Time-Lapse Videos

Time-lapse videos have become incredibly popular, they are used for everything from nature documentaries to weather reports.

They work by capturing something on film at a slow framerate, with the video then replayed subsequently at much higher framerate.

The resultant effect gives the video a unique look, where time seems to be moving faster, or ‘lapsing’. The effect can also be reversed, capturing footage at a fast frame rate and then playing it back at a slower frequency.

This makes time appear to be slowing down.

Time-lapse photography used to require specialist and extremely expensive equipment.

Today, even our mobile devices come fitted with time-lapse ready camera technology.

For your own time-lapse video, choose an interesting subject, such as moving traffic or melting snow.

Edit your video to make it look as stylish and as visually striking as possible.

This can be a fantastic way to get experience and learn about an increasingly common video editing technique.
