However, if you do not consistently post, Google will deem your page inactive, and your rankings will suffer. So, how often should you post? The answer: Once per week, at a minimum. You can optimize for higher rankings by updating the blog more frequently.

There are different ways to do this: Use a content management system (CMS) like WordPress or Tumblr that allows you to easily and quickly create new posts.

Hire a professional writer who will be able to meet your needs, deadlines, and style.

When creating SEO campaigns, be sure to create an SEO roadmap and keep to a consistent posting schedule, so Google knows you are active.

Skipping Title Tags & Meta Descriptions

Optimizing your content does not just mean adding a keyword; you also need to provide title tags and meta descriptions. When search engines crawl your website, they look for that information, so don’t forget to include it. For images, search engines can’t read the text that accompanies it; this is why you need to add an alt tag. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then one well-written alt tag could be worth ten thousand.

Also, if you want your website to rank high in the SERPs, you should use relevant keywords and not just spam them everywhere on your site.

It would help if you also remembered to use schema to mark up your content to tell the search engines what your website is about. No matter how great your blogs are, you won’t have increased traffic if a search engine can’t determine what the content is about.

When it comes to innovative marketing, also include image tags, which are an additional measure to increasing search rankings.

Not Being Mobile Friendly

Mobile is the future. In 2018, Google switched to mobile-first indexing. This switch means that Google looks at the mobile version of your site to decide your ranking. So even if the browser version is good, your rankings will decrease if your mobile is weak. As an Amazon seller, there are many ways to optimize your presence on mobile. To get the most out of your mobile presence, you need to optimize each stage of the customer experience (top of the funnel, mid-funnel, and bottom of the funnel). Optimizing your mobile presence means optimizing every aspect of your business, including marketing, product, and customer service.

Trying to Rank for the Wrong Keywords

Do not try and optimize your content for generic keywords or any that are too competitive; you need to try and be as specific as you can. For example, you should add your business’s area, long-tail keywords, questions, and more. You should also include in your content: your business name, address, and contact information. Additionally, you can add images, social media links, and a link to your website.

This is why keyword research is the base task of SEO. If keyword research is done perfectly with competitor analysis, then following the correct guidelines, we can properly execute on-page optimization, content creation and link building, which will get our website higher in SERPs.

As many relevant keyword you can incorporate in the article, as more ranking possibilities you can get. For example the keyword “Bermuda” has been used in this article 2 times.

The length of an article also matters. So, instead of writing one long article, you should write a series of articles based on the same keyword. This will help search engines to index your website with a better ranking.

Different keyword research platforms can help you decide which keywords to use, such as Ahrefs, Keyword revealer, Moz and SEMRush.

Keyword Stuffing

Keyword stuffing is when someone tries to rank for a keyword or a few keywords all over the site, even in places where it is not relevant. For example, someone might stuff their blog post titles with a target keyword and then write that blog post about something totally different. Search engines can recognize when someone is keyword stuffing and will penalize them for it. The solution? Don’t keyword stuff your title or description. Instead, work on creating engaging and search-friendly content.

While keyword stuffing used to work in the marketing industry, Google has updated its algorithm.

As we explained earlier, you should optimize your anchor text to incorporate a target keyword that is relevant to the page being linked to. This means using different variations of the target keyword throughout your site. However, you must keep in mind that excessive use of the same keyword is one of the most common ways people get penalized by Google.

Some experts are of the opinion that using too many variations of the target keyword in your anchor text might get you into trouble with Google.

Instead of trying to rank for every possible variation of your keyword, focus on creating great content related to your topic.
