Solution-1: Turn-On & Turn-Off Airplane Mode

Most of the Apple user know about the “Airplane Mode” function. Many of them use this function to disable all networks. Sometimes we forget to turn off the “Airplane mode” and want to connect to Wi-Fi. So it does not allow them to connect their device to the Wi-Fi network. Before you connect your device to Wi-Fi make sure that the “Airplane Mode” is turned off. This process may help you to solve the issue “iPhone wont connect to WiFi”.

Solution-2: Turn-On & Turn-Off Wi-Fi Assist

Wi-Fi Assist a new functionality in iOS 9 or later. This feature helps to make the internet connection stable. Basically, this feature switches the internet connection to Cellular when the Wi-Fi connection is poor and slow. For Wi-Fi connection issue, sometimes turning off Wi-Fi Assist helps. So it is worth to toggle Wi-Fi Assist. By navigating “Settings” then “Cellular” and then Wi-Fi Assist, turn on and then turn off this option by toggling.

Solution-3: Turn off the Wi-Fi and again Turn On

This solution works if the iPhone/ iPad can’t connect to Wi-Fi network, or the device is connected but the connection drops. Try this solution. Go to the bottom of your device screen and swipe on the Control Center. In the control center Turn off the Wi-Fi option by tapping on it. Now you have to wait around 30 seconds and then again turn on the Wi-Fi option.

You can also turn on and off the Wi-Fi from the settings of your Apple device.

To do that – Find Settings in the Apple device, then Tap on Wi-Fi. Now toggle the Wi-Fi On-Off switch at the right side of Wi-Fi option.

Solution-9: Update/ upgrade the firmware of your Router

When the existing firmware of your Router gets older, it requires being updated to the newer version. Due to this old version sometimes you won’t be able to connect your device to the home Wi-Fi network. In this case, you can solve the problem by updating/ upgrading the router firmware.

To do that, fist you have to identify the model number and version of the router. Usually, the model number and version you can get on your router packaging box. Also, you can look for it in the manual. If you cannot find it there, check at the backside or underside of the router, there should be an info sticker and you can collect model and version from there.

The second step is to go to the router’s manufacturer’s website from where you have to download the latest firmware of your router model.

Thirdly, using this downloaded firmware update the router firmware. If you don’t know how to update the firmware of router, you can have instructions from the official website of the router.

Solution-10: Modify the DNS settings in Network settings

Sometimes the issue could be solved by changing or modifying the DNS settings in your network settings. In this case, Google DNS configuration (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 or any one of these two) could be used, you can use open DNS configuration (208.67.220.123 and 208.67.222.123) or make sure that you have a DNS configuration from your network provider (ISP) and you can use these DNS’s too.

To modify DNS, Navigate the “Settings” in your iPhone/ iPad; navigate your connected Wi-Fi network and find info icon (i) at the right side of the network name, enter into DNS settings by tapping the info (i) icon; then change the DNS address.

Solution-11: Do a RESET for your Network settings

After trying all the above solutions if still your iPad/ iPhone unable to connect to Wi-Fi with correct password or drops the connection, then it is time to reset your network settings on your iPad/ iPhone. This resetting technic will reset all your network settings such as Wi-Fi, Cellular configuration, stored networks with its passwords, even the settings of VPN & APN.

To do the Network reset, firstly you have to navigate the “settings” as usual, then navigate “General” and tap on it, after that you will see “Reset network settings” and tap on it; it will ask your passcode (if any), type the passcode and make the confirmation of your network resetting by tapping on “Reset Network Settings”. Solution-12: Update the iOS to the latest version for your iPhone/ iPad

If your problem still exists, you need to update the iOS of your device to the latest version. In this situation, you won’t be able to update via Wi-Fi. It remains two options for you, updating via cellular data or updating via iTunes. But if your device can get connected to any other Wi-Fi network other than yours, you can update the OS via that connection.

To update iOS you have to follow these instructions – Firstly, navigate “Settings”, then go to “General” and tap on it, you will find there “Software update” now tap on it; it will lead you to Download and Install the update, now tap on Download and install.

To update the iOS via iTunes – Firstly, download the latest version of iTunes software for your PC as per your PC OS and install it. Secondly, connect your Apple device via USB cable to the PC where iTunes is installed. Thirdly, go to your computer and open iTunes software. Now select your iPhone and you have to click on “Summary”, there you will see “Check for update”; click on this option now. Solution-13: Restoring to Factory settings of you Apple device (iPhone/ iPad) using iTunes

To fix this, you have to renew the lease to grab a different IP address. To do that, you have to navigate “Settings” on your Apple device, go to the Wi-Fi network you are connected or you want to be connected. Solution-15: Blow-dry your device and solve iPhone wont connect to WiFi

Caution: This method can damage your device. So be careful you apply this method. Try this method if only your device is not under warranty.

Get a blow-dryer, switch on it and blow your Apple device with it about one minute. Keep an eye on your device screen, once you see the message “Your iPhone/ iPad is overheated”, just stop drying with the blow-dryer. Quickly switch off your device and keep it in a freezer for around 10 minutes. After 10 minutes get back your device from a freezer. Now try to connect the device to Wi-Fi. Hopefully, you will be able to connect now. If still, you are not lucky, it’s time to contact to Apple Support Services, they must help you out.
